Spondyloarthritis Golden Anniversary Meeting

In November 2025, the rheumatology community gathered in Leeds to celebrate the 50th Golden Anniversary of Spondyloarthritis research and collaboration. Held at The Queen’s Hotel in Leeds on 27–28 November 2025 with 100 attendees the two-day event honoured five decades of scientific discovery, clinical progress, and collaborative partnership. The celebrations, jointly representing BritPACT and BRITSpA, began on Thursday evening with a welcome introduction and a warm and engaging Celebration Dinner.

Friday’s anniversary meeting showcased an outstanding line-up of experts, each highlighting key milestones and emerging directions in spondyloarthritis research. Presentations covered the evolution of classification criteria, advances in imaging, the role of animal models in shaping scientific understanding, and major developments in genetics. Further sessions focused of axial and peripheral disease, the importance of recognising skin involvement, and the transformation of treatment strategies over time. The meeting concluded with forward-looking discussions on future initiatives and research opportunities, offering an exciting glimpse of what lies ahead. By bringing together pioneers who shaped the field and innovators who are driving it forward, the Golden Anniversary Meeting proved to be a memorable celebration of progress—and an inspiring foundation for the next chapter in psoriatic arthritis and axial spondyloarthritis research.
